Five arrested for attack on Bengal Minister Siddiqullah Chowdhury in Bardhaman
A young man died after being hit by a speeding truck in Sasaram, Bihar, on Friday. The incident occurred on the Sasaram-Ara road near Gaulkshani Kuraich area. The victim, identified as Gaurav Kumar, was riding a motorcycle when the truck collided with him, leading to his death on the spot. The truck was reportedly moving at high speed and lost control before hitting the two-wheeler.
Following the incident, local residents gathered at the accident site and blocked the road for nearly two and a half hours. Traffic movement came to a halt as people demanded immediate action against the truck driver and compensation for the victim’s family. The crowd refused to move until officials arrived and addressed their concerns.
Sasaram SDM Ashutosh Ranjan and SDPO Dilip Kumar reached the location to manage the situation. According to SDM Ashutosh Ranjan, “Biker’s death in a road accident caused the blockade. People demanded compensation and other support.” After discussions and assurances from the administration, the road was cleared and normal movement resumed.
Police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem at Sasaram Sadar Hospital. After completion of the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family. The police have begun further investigation into the case, and the process of providing government assistance to the victim’s dependents has been initiated.
